I must say, all of the candidates are Lurker favorites, (except for the little brown "noser" kid) so it was a tough decision when we voted. But it wasn't really much of a competition though.
African Athena and WT were the first runner ups but they were way behind, same as Coach Con and Starlomor. Amidst the commotion and corruption it seems like the first productive end of the week drama NR has had since phantom and chif vs. dizzle and co.

I would personally like to say that even though most of us agreed that as a new member, BTM had no business running for CM, it was unfortunate that he had to be teamed up with the most loathed person in the free e-world. I believe that he had a better chance running alone and that he is reasonable, fair and basically everything that the typical NR CMs/Admins have never been.

Even though Arinze declined to tell the lurk blog what that little faux virgin chaser Nna bros tried to do with the votes, we still commend him on a job well done. There was a little vote amongst us lurkers whether this was the case of Good cop, Bad cop with Arinze and Nna bros respectively. We scratched that and came to the conclusion that we don't give a fuck as long as Arinze looked good in the end (yes one of us has a crush on the boy) and Nna bros (who was milking his new found fame by using the opportunity to open a thread showing off his pre-balding stage) looking as guilty as ever.

We don't like him so we placed a curse on him: we decree that all the cyber cafes in his local government would unexpectedly go out of business, leaving him to go back into non-existence. Amen
: we also sent his picture to hotornot.com, they thought we were punking them.

NL VS NL MEMBERS (VICTIMS, LIARS AND JUST PLAIN PISSED OFF)

I "Questioning link": I called it questioning because the information it provided might be false about nairaland. I simply mentioned the fact that someone pointed out that you might have tweaked the numbers.

II "Apparently peeved NL member": that was another hint to readers that the info might be a product of a victim of injustice on your web board.

III "shady statistics" : once again! If I truly believed that you "upped" the numbers, would I have referred to their statistics as shady? No

IV "insinuated" The definition of that word serves as my final point

And there you have it! Sometimes it pays to let members create their presence in order to increase member count only to whack them in the head, hijack their ids and still be able to boast of their existence when its time to show off the statistics.

I tell ya, if I had a forum with a fucked up database like naijaryders.com, I'd probably do the same thing to make the forum easier to navigate for others: Allow 1000 people to register, ban 900 of them, and while 100 people generate 1000 meaningless posts (90% in a picture thread with no pictures) who will argue with my stats when I claim to have 1000 members?

Sounds like a plan, I shall call it NAIRALAND.NET!

For the most part, people will put up with negative treatment, until you have their back to the wall. At which time they will turn around and face you.
I made meaningful contribution to the .com for close to 6 months.Over that period:
My posts were indiscriminately deleted, often because the admin was proved wrong in a discussion. The admin, Seun often comes across as juvenile, and conceited. Never concedes gracefully when he's wrong. Eventually, all such posts that portray him as unintelligent get deleted.
I witnessed so much negative treatment of the users of the site.
From all indications, most registered members are unhappy with the admin's conduct. But if that was the case, why do they remain members? Perhaps because they're unaware that tons of similar forums exist on the net.
In response to the admin's self-important behavior, I decided to create http://www.nairaland.net/
At the present time, http://www.nairaland.net/ is everything that the .com is, and more.
I would have never thought of creating www.nairaland.net, had it not been for the admin's attitude toward his users. I would have been perfectly happy contributing to the .com for a long time to come.
I'm sure many people out there feel the same way I do, and eventually, Seun will realise it's too little too late to redeem himself, as people move away in droves from his sit"

So you see Seun, im on your side..well.. sometimes.
You might be a good person but you are definitely not a people person and maybe the reason why "people are looking for reasons to bring you down" is because they are "frustrated" with your dictatorship...sort of like the way you are frustrated with alleged liars now. What goes around comes around Mr O, be a little more sensitive. Besides, being called a liar should be the least of your problems..how about dealing with the negative names you called yourself earlier...admittance is the first step for recovery. You admit you are an anti-social dictator? I would never admit to being a bitch!

To the disgruntled victims and refugees of nairaland.com, naijaryders.com, nigeriansinamerica.com, nigerianentertainment.com etc.. Here is a little tip for you

NR VS NL (Part III) (Size & Open mindedness)

Announcement: Due to the sensitive nature of the incident which lead to the temporary shut down of "Anonymous Lurker" Blog, the archives have been hidden till further notice.

FORUM SIZES: (As of 9.8.06)

Naijaryders: NR claims to have 6,800 members but only approximately 10 jobless loiterers alternate the forum at the same time within a 3 hour time period, unless there is E-DRAMA (as they call it) : which usually involves somebody posting another persons unauthorized picture/bidness.

The remaining 6,790 members of NR are double ids and once active members who eventually got a life.

OPEN MINDEDNESS:

Nairaland: There is something oddly familiar about Nairaland.com's milieu. Its members are edgy and conformist in a "all homosexuals should be burned..." kind of way and although I give them credit for producing some of the most insightful threads ever seen on a Nigerian web board, they still manage to turn up their noses when it comes to being open minded.

From business savvy fresh off the boat Grads to Old and bitter UN-EMPLOYEES to up and coming web developers and technicians to delusional graphic artistes and disturbed individuals! The characters never fail to entertain

Naijaryders: Call me a nit-picker but NR is way to open minded. Infact, their minds are so wide open that you can actually see what's in their skulls (if you have a magnifying glass handy).

From pedophiles to wife beaters and women bashers to men bashers, feminists, serial haters and attention seekers! It's a freak show down there!

Which reminds me, I have to end the blog here because there is a scrupulous E-DRAMA on NR that I am investigating. A very thoughtful yet utterly malicious Ryder sent me the thread link. (probably xoxoluwaxox)

Initially, I was aloof and regarded it as another faux and inflated drama thread (these threads habitually spring up towards the end of the week when the jobless people become less busy!) but that all changed with Arinze's thread. It seems Toni Payne of NigerianEntertainment.Com is up to something... And whatever it is, I think I like it ??? That's what scares me
